Start A Business Teaching Kids: How To Start A Business Teaching Private And Group Enrichment Lessons For Kids by Stephanie Quinn is an explorative introduction of the beneficial process of teaching kids in a more personal and fulfilling atmosphere than is typically available in the traditional public school classroom. Quinn's approach to the child education ideal is highly researched and poignant in its progressive attitude for its application. Good common sense notions. Start a Business Teaching Kids is a how to book that helps the reader plan and execute a small business teaching supplemental lessons. Quinn runs the reader through the concept and planning stage, and then seamlessly addresses the scouting out of location, and principles of effective advertising. There are good common sense notions and anyone who has had a small business will recognize the soundness of the advice. She points out and explores the idiosyncrasies that are native to dealing with children and parents on a business level. The book would be an asset to anyone who is unfamiliar with starting a business especially anyone interested in teaching a skill.

"Start A Business Teaching Kids" is a good place to look for information from starting your business, finding locations, advertising and publicity to keeping the kids coming back for more. This small book offers much valuable information. One of my favorite parts would be valuable to anyone wishing to market a skill ~ Publicity Kits. The author, Stephanie Quinn, provides a detailed list of everything your kit needs to include (bio information, description of the lessons, press releases, etc.). She explains what elements a good press release should contain and how to get your information to the public. "Instead of `advertising' your lesson program, emphasize the benefits of it. Make the story interesting and entertaining." There is much practical advice given regarding most everything from workshops to dealing with parents. "Start A Business Teaching Kids" is a well-written book and an excellent place to begin looking for information. Good luck with your business teaching kids!

A great guide covering all the basics! Great resource covering all the basics one needs to start a business teaching kids. It gives a very thorough description of things you will face and the better repaired you are as a new business owner - the better for your new business! Being a founding director of a School of World Languages and Cultures puts me in the 'veteran' position, so to speak, and the advice I could give anyone just starting out, learn as much as you can before you act. I liked a few marketing ideas, too. This book is like a check-list, keep your bases covered!

I am an attorney and have been an owner-operator of a few business endeavors over the past 30 years, including publisher. For my retirement, I want to teach kids the global language, Esperanto fulltime. These credentials make me a very critical reviewer of this book.
I was very impressed.
Stephanie Quinn laid out how to Start a Business Teaching Kids thoroughly yet in a very readable way. She used a minimum of words while not missing a detail; she added cautions and tips which had not occurred to me. Obviously her personal experience was extensive.
Because she did not belabor any points simply to make the book thicker, I won't need to distill the necessary information out of tens of thousands of words. Her book, as is, will serve as my checklist and can serve as yours. It would be worth the investment at twice or thrice its very modest price.

Written by Stephanie Quinn from her years of experience holding summer acting camps in a performing arts studio, Ham It Up: How To Start Your Own Acting Camp for Kids is an in-depth guide to running a fun, safe, and creative program for young people ages 8 to 15, the better to cultivate their performing talents, and includes an exciting performance to produce for family and friends. Black-and-white photographs illustrate these plain-spoken instructions for interacting with parents, leading kids in theater preparation and warmup exercises, and a detailed five-day planner filled with activities for kids to learn about everything from scriptwriting to body positioning to dress rehearsal and curtain calls. The most valuable aspect of Ham It Up is that its curriculum has been thoroughly tested and put into practice, allowing the teacher to focus upon instruction itself rather than fine-tuning lesson plan mechanics. Enthusiastically recommended especially for summer camps, summer school instructors, community theater groups, and Sunday school groups in need of a quality week-long acting camp.
